Blue September
Every year more than 600 New Zealand men die from prostate cancer and one in ten New Zealand men will develop the disease in their lifetime.
Like many diseases many of these deaths could be prevented by early detection.
This month is Blue September and the message is all about getting checked so you can rest assured that you aren't in danger.
It is a couple of minutes discomfort but that's a small price to pay.
If you want to find out more you can visit the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
