Christchurch Celebrates 7 Years
by Murray Crane
This month our Christchurch store celebrated its 7th Birthday.
We are pretty pleased to have hit this milestone. Much of our progress is due to our Managing Director Fraser Bremford who has worked hard to introduce and develop the business. If you’ve shopped or supported us over the last 7 years - thank you, we appreciate it.
It all started in June 2016, in an impromptu moment, I walked into a red stickered building in the middle of what was once the Christchurch CBD. Within 15 minutes I had made a commitment to a lease on a premises and flew back to Auckland late that evening feeling excited and nervous. It would be 18 months before the building was ready and we opened February 2018.
The motivation behind what felt like a rash decision has proven justified, we operate out of one of the few character buildings in what remains of “old Christchurch”, thanks mainly to the vision of Box 112, a development company who have specialised in salvaging and restoring such buildings.
Oxford Terrace is a wonderful promenade situated next to the Avon River; you could say it was the perfect place to take a punt.
