Classic Car Auction
by Murray Crane
June is auction time for Webb's, with a nice line up of classics in their latest catalogue.
My top picks would be a lovely Peugeot 504, a 1974 VW 181, a stunning XJ12 Convertible, a mint 71 Beetle and my personal grail - a 65 Mercedes 230SL.
These cars are beginning to command some pretty strong prices but are holding their own, so as long as you can garage them and maintain them, they will continue to appreciate in value.
Value for money and biggest upside is probably the 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300SL - these are becoming harder to find and should just continue to get rarer as they stick in collections and don't come up for resale as much.
