Dior And I
My Art Friend and I went and saw this last night.
There were about twelve people in the theatre; I guess haute couture is a hard sell on all levels.
Dior was the undisputed heavyweight champion of frock design and the house Dior lives on with his ghost gently watching over.
This documentary follows the introduction of Raf Simons to the house as its new art director and the creation of his first runway show on a very tight time frame.
This behind the scenes look at how our industry functions at such a high-level is fascinating.
I find Simons quite polarising as a designer and as a person, but the French seem well equipped to accommodate his personality type sublimely.
Sublime is used a lot in this film.
