Her Hitler
The British Secret Service has revealed that they sought to spike Adolf Hitler’s food with female sex hormones in a bid to make him less aggressive.
The idea was that Estrogen in the Nazi leader’s meals would – unlike drugs – be undetectable when his food was tested before being served to him.
The story is contained in the book Secret Weapons: Technology, Science and the Race to Win World War II.
“He had testers who used to taste his food. There was no mileage to putting poison in his food because they would immediately fall victim to it,” the book’s author, professor Brian Ford, told the Daily Mail.
“Sex hormones were a different matter. They only affected you if you took them for weeks or months on end, so no one would have ever realised that the hormones were in the food.”
Ultimately, the estrogen plot never got far beyond the drawing board.
Other unlikely ideas included disguising bombs as tins of fruit and dropping glue onto German soldiers to stick them to the ground.
Fruit, sticky ends and cross dressing: Yes that’s the German Army we know and love.
