Khartoum Place
There seems to be a mass debate (yes I said that) about the memorial tiles in Khartoum Place.
Let's face it, they are pretty ugly, but although I find them distasteful visually they are a part of the Cityscape and deserve to be considered in the same way as everything else.
However; as a golden shower of criticism is sprayed upon them by the art community I can't help but wonder how anything that the Council attempts to defend as being a part of our cultural heritage can be believed given the vast number of heritage buildings that have been destroyed through short sighted planning.
The tiles are less than two decades old; do they deserve all the attention?
What about His Majesty’s Theatre or the hundreds of true heritage sites demolished in the last thirty years?
