Lovely Jubbly - The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

So much of menswear draws its inspiration from Great Britain and its long, storied history. The Royal Family has always been a very strong influence on this; whether it is the shirt makers of Jermyn Street, or the tailors of Savile Row, most have rubbed shoulders with Royalty in some way, with many holding Royal Warrants.
A part of this very long relationship is the army of merchants and haberdashers providing all of the necessary bits and bobs that go into creating suits, robes and uniforms. The Queen's Jubilee has been the perfect time to showcase this great talent.
Recently I worked with one of the oldest and most esteemed suppliers to the Royal Family: Hand & Lock. The project was to recreate a Maori Battalion Bullion Badge. Hand & Lock are the pre-eminent goldwork specialists, having used the same techniques since 1767. They use fine bullion wires to bring life to emblems, logos and cyphers. Hand & Lock have a long rich history working with the Royal Family and recently they published a history of their achievements.
