Store Renovations Chapter 4
It has been another busy day as we enter Day 2 of the renovations. I am starting to realise the magnitude of what we are taking on in a little over 5 days.
The store looks much bigger ( even with 15 tradesmen in it ) and the floor plate has been enlarged significantly.
It has been interesting exposing parts of the original hotel including a beautiful mosaic tiled floor that would have been part of the original bar.
We are working out how we can save it.
The store has been 80 % gutted and we are now building the new changing area and stock rooms.
We have steel joinery and glazing to install as well as completely stripping back and restoring the original floor.
There is new skirting and architraves to put in as well as wiring, cabling, plumbing, lighting.
All of our antique cabinets and furniture are at a secure off site location being restored. We will also be re painting.
This week has also seen new stock arriving from most of our international suppliers including Cheaney Shoes and some new suppliers who we will be showcasing.
Our new hangers are somewhere in transit, supposedly arriving in New Zealand Tuesday.
We also have a major art installation planned for Tuesday that requires the front windows to be installed after it has been moved into the store.
