The Crown, Season 5
Costume Designer Amy Roberts seems to have an innate ability to nail the wardrobe in every series so far with nothing feeling contrived or overworked.
The Royals are one of the most photographed families of all time, so there is a stack of good reference points but the work she has done with the likes of Timothy Everest is exceptional in terms of detail. Everest has created all of The Crown’s tailored menswear since Season 1 and is a regular contributor to film and TV work.
The suits in earlier seasons of the show were quite heavily structured in order to be correct for that time, and in later seasons this has changed. It looks as if Season 5 will carry on this tradition.
On the right we see Dominic West as Prince Charles sporting a brown double-breasted suit paired with a blue thin track striped shirt and bolder Ivy striped tie - all time period correct in style.
