Tipping: My Two Cents
Tipping is something that New Zealanders don't warm to easily. I believe that if you get outstanding service you should tip.
It encourages hospitality staff to continue to provide outstanding service as well as letting them view hospitality as a valid career path.
All that can mean is a better dining experience for everyone.
I was at a Restaurant last night and the owner informed me that tipping has dropped significantly with the increased use of electronic cards.
There are eftpos programs that prompt you by requesting a tip but this assumption can leave some people a little uncomfortable.
So make sure you come prepared to tip for good service.
