Tolls
There seems to be a lot of debate about how we, as Aucklanders, are supposed to pay for all the new roading projects we require to enable to allow our city to remain prosperous.
The rail loop (a roading project of sorts) will charge a toll in the form of a ticket, a small price to pay for quick uninterrupted access to the CBD.
Most people, if given the choice, will pay a little extra for the convenience of getting from A to B that bit quicker no matter what they are driving or riding.
I believe a toll would be applicable on buses as well if it was knocking a half hour off your travel time.
As a regular visitor to Sydney my driver regularly gives me the option of using part of the (tolled) tunnel network to enable me to get to my destination quicker.
It always seems like a good deal.
