The New Zealand Portrait Gallery has a new exhibition starting this evening in Wellington.
Tranquility Disturb'd is a contemporary look at historical New Zealand is a unique view of an important and dramatic aspect of New Zealand history. English navigator Captain James Cook’s three visits to this country and the wider Pacific region in the late 18th century are the primary focus given his influence on the course of New Zealand history.
Works are by 3 artists: Lisa Reihana, Nigel Brown and Gavin Hurley.
